Basic Safety Tips
- All users should be familiar with the rules for safe use of the pool before they enter the pool water.
- All drains in the pool must be properly covered. No one should be allowed to play with or near a drain cover or drain. If any drain cover is ever broken or missing, the pool must be closed and you must notify us immediately.
- A pool that is not equipped with a diving board is automatically designated as a NON DIVING POOL. Diving into this pool can result in serious injury (i.e. paralysis) or death. That means there must be NO DIVING or headfirst entry into any portion of the pools.
- If your pool is equipped with a diving board or slide, then you and everyone who uses them must be familiar with the video and/or written instructions for safe use provided by the equipment manufacturer.
- No running or horseplay of any kind should be allowed in or near the pool area.
- No child should ever be allowed in the pool or pool area without constant adult supervision.
- Never allow anyone to stand or play on a pool cover. Small children can even drown in the small amount of water that accumulates on top of a cover.
- Keep the gate and all doors providing access to the pool area closed and secure at all times.
- Use the buddy system. Don't swim alone.
- Prior to entrance of any body of water, survey pool and area.
- Do not assume. Always ask the question: "Can your child swim?" when you have guests.
- When the pool is covered during the winter with a winter mesh cover or in the summer with a summer solar cover or an automatic cover KEEP OFF!
- All social gatherings at or near the pool require constant adult supervision.
- Persons who appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of Medication, Drugs or Alcohol should not be permitted to swim in your pool.
- Keep emergency phone numbers posted in the pool area.
- The transition or safety rope should remain in place as a warning to swimmers of a change in the slope toward the deep end.
- There should be no electrical devices in the pool area unless they are protected by a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter).
- Always make sure the pool and pool area are well lighted when used after dusk
